(BDSG-neu).
1. Data protection at a glance
General information
The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data that can be used to identify you personally. Detailed information on the subject of data protection can be found in our privacy policy set out below this text.
Who is responsible for the collection of data on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. The operator’s contact details can be found in the section “Information about the controller” in this privacy policy.
How do we collect your data?
Some of your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data that you enter into a contact form.
Other data is collected by our IT systems automatically or after you have given your consent when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of the page request). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.
What do we use your data for?
Part of the data is collected to ensure that the website is provided without errors. Where enquiries are sent to us via the website, the data transmitted is processed in order to handle these enquiries.
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the rectification or erasure of this data. If you have given your consent to data processing, you can withdraw this consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right to request, under certain circumstances, the restriction of the processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
You can contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions on the subject of data protection.
2. Hosting and delivery of the website
External hosting
This website is hosted externally. The personal data collected on this website is stored on the servers of the host. This may include, in particular, IP addresses, contact requests, meta and communication data, contact details, names, website access data and other data generated via a website.
External hosting is carried out for the purpose of fulfilling contracts with our potential and existing customers (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and in the interest of a secure, fast and efficient provision of our online services by a professional provider (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Where consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG, insofar as the consent covers the storage of cookies or access to information on the user’s terminal device (e.g. device fingerprinting) within the meaning of the TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Our host will only process your data to the extent necessary to fulfil its service obligations and will follow our instructions with regard to this data.
We use the following host:
Cloudflare, Inc.
101 Townsend Street
San Francisco, CA 94107
USA
Delivery via the Cloudflare network
This website is delivered entirely via Cloudflare’s infrastructure. Every request for a page, image or file of this website is answered by Cloudflare servers. There is no additional web server of our own.
In doing so, Cloudflare processes the technical data that necessarily arises with every request to a website – in particular IP address, requested address, time of the request and browser and operating system identifier. This data is required so that the requested content can be delivered to your device. We do not evaluate this data and do not combine it with other data sources.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in a technically error-free, secure and fast provision of our online services and in defending our website against attacks.
Data transfers to the USA are based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. Details can be found here: https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-scc/
Further information on data processing by Cloudflare can be found at https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-dpa/ and https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
The company is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Further information can be found at https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5666
Network error reports
The responses of our website contain technical headers that allow your browser to report network errors to Cloudflare (so-called Network Error Logging). Only failed requests are reported, not successful ones. Such a report contains the time, the requested address, the type of error and technical details of the connection. The report is sent by your browser, not by us.
The purpose is to detect and remedy technical faults in delivery. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
3. General information and mandatory information

Storage period
Unless a more specific storage period has been stated within this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a justified request for deletion or withdraw your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, the data will be deleted once these reasons no longer apply.
General information on the legal bases for data processing on this website
If you have consented to data processing, we process your personal data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR or Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR if special categories of data are processed in accordance with Art. 9(1) GDPR. In the case of explicit consent to the transfer of personal data to third countries, data processing is also carried out on the basis of Art. 49(1)(a) GDPR. If you have consented to the storage of cookies or to access to information on your terminal device (e.g. via device fingerprinting), data processing is additionally carried out on the basis of § 25(1) TDDDG. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. If your data is required for the performance of a contract or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Furthermore, we process your data on the basis of Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR if this is necessary to comply with a legal obligation. Data processing may also be carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The legal bases relevant in each individual case are explained in the following paragraphs of this privacy policy.
Recipients of personal data
In the course of our business activities, we work with various external parties. In some cases, this also requires the transfer of personal data to these external parties. We only pass on personal data to external parties if this is necessary for the performance of a contract, if we are legally obliged to do so (e.g. disclosure of data to tax authorities), if we have a legitimate interest in the disclosure pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR or if another legal basis permits the disclosure of data. When using processors, we only pass on our customers’ personal data on the basis of a valid data processing agreement. In the case of joint processing, a joint processing agreement is concluded.
Your rights
Withdrawal of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your explicit consent. You can withdraw consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the withdrawal remains unaffected by the withdrawal.
You can change or completely withdraw your consent to the loading of external content (videos, map) at any time via the cookie icon at the bottom left of every page. Revoked content is removed immediately.
Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
If data processing is based on Art. 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation; this also applies to profiling based on these provisions. The respective legal basis on which processing is based can be found in this privacy policy. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data concerned unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims (objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR).
If your personal data is processed for the purpose of direct marketing, you have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such marketing; this also applies to profiling insofar as it is related to such direct marketing. If you object, your personal data will subsequently no longer be used for the purpose of direct marketing (objection pursuant to Art. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of infringements of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedies.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in fulfilment of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done insofar as it is technically feasible.
Access, rectification and erasure
Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to obtain information free of charge about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to rectification or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of deletion.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of deletion.
- If you have lodged an objection pursuant to Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data – apart from its storage – may only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or of a Member State.
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as enquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Objection to advertising e-mails
We hereby object to the use of contact details published in the imprint for sending advertising and information material that has not been expressly requested. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising information being sent, for example by spam e-mails.
4. Data collection on this website
Cookies
Our website uses so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small data packets and do not cause any damage to your terminal device. They are stored on your terminal device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Permanent cookies remain stored on your terminal device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
Cookies can originate from us (first-party cookies) or from third-party companies (so-called third-party cookies). Third-party cookies enable the integration of certain services of third-party companies within websites.
The following applies on this website: simply visiting a page does not set any cookie and does not create any entry in your browser storage. This also applies to the delivery itself – no session identifier and no technical cookie of the delivery provider is set. Every storage operation on this website is the result of an action taken by you. There is no analysis of your user behaviour, no audience measurement and no advertising.
Cookies that are necessary to carry out the electronic communication process, to provide certain functions requested by you or to optimise the website (necessary cookies) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is stated. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Where consent to the storage of cookies and comparable recognition technologies has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG); consent can be withdrawn at any time.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and only allow cookies in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be limited.
Consent management (cookie selection)
This website uses consent management with which you decide whether external content (YouTube videos, Google map) may be loaded. The solution is operated on our own website; no data is transferred to third parties in the process.
Before you make your decision, no cookie is set, no entry is created in your browser’s storage and no external content is loaded.
After your decision – including after a rejection – a cookie named hepro_consent is set. It contains the categories you have selected, the time of the decision, a language identifier, a version number and a randomly generated identifier. Like any cookie, it is sent along with requests to our website; we do not evaluate it. Its sole purpose is to store your decision and to avoid asking you again on every page request. It is valid for 90 days from the time of your decision.
If you have allowed a service, an entry is additionally created in your browser’s local storage for that service. These entries are deleted when you withdraw your consent.
You can change or withdraw your selection at any time via the cookie icon at the bottom left of every page. Changes take effect immediately: newly allowed content is loaded, revoked content is removed.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with the obligation to be able to prove your consent, as well as our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in integrating external content in compliance with data protection law.
Server log files
This data necessarily arises with every request to a website and is processed by our delivery provider (see section 2, “Hosting and delivery of the website”). We do not export or evaluate any logs. The data concerned is:
- IP address
- requested address
- time of the request
- browser identifier
- country of origin, determined from the IP address
This data is not combined with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website – for this purpose, the server log files must be recorded.
Contact form
If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
How the data is processed: your entries are checked and sent immediately as an e-mail to a fixed, predefined address within our company. The e-mail is sent via Microsoft 365 (see “Microsoft 365 (e-mail communication)”). The data is not stored on the website itself – there is neither a database nor file storage. The content of your enquiry then exists exclusively as an e-mail in our mailbox. Attaching files is not possible.
Protection against automated submissions: to limit abusive mass enquiries, we store a hash value of your IP address (SHA-256, truncated) for a maximum of 24 hours. It is formed with an additional value that changes daily; it is therefore not possible to draw conclusions about your IP address. The plain-text IP address is not stored. Neither your name nor your address, telephone number or the content of your message is recorded in our technical logs.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of enquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be withdrawn at any time.
The data you enter in the contact form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your enquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Service form
Via the service form on our “Service” page, you can place an order with us for a machine check. In doing so, we record the machines you have selected with quantity and location, your billing address (customer number, company, contact person, street and house number, postcode, town), your e-mail address and telephone number, and your comments. Mandatory fields are company, contact person, postcode, telephone number, e-mail address, confirmation of the order placement and of the data protection notice, and, for each selected machine, the quantity. All other information is voluntary.
We use this information to process your service order, to confirm receipt to you, to plan and carry out the service and to clarify any queries.
How the data is processed: your entries are checked and sent immediately as an e-mail to the mailbox of our service department. The e-mail is sent via Microsoft 365 (see “Microsoft 365 (e-mail communication)”). The information is not stored on the website itself – there is neither a database nor file storage. Attaching files is not possible.
Protection against automated submissions: the same measures apply as for the contact form (hash value of the IP address for a maximum of 24 hours, no form content in our technical logs), as well as Cloudflare Turnstile (see section 5).
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, as it serves the performance of the service order you have placed or pre-contractual measures. Insofar as the processing goes beyond this or you fill in the form as a contact person for a company, it is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of the service orders addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
The data you enter in the service form will remain with us until you ask us to delete it or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your order has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods under commercial and tax law – remain unaffected.
Enquiries by e-mail, telephone or fax
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your enquiry, including all resulting personal data (name, enquiry), will be stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request. We do not pass on this data without your consent.
The data you send to us via contact requests will remain with us until you ask us to delete it, withdraw your consent to storage or the purpose for storing the data no longer applies (e.g. after your request has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular statutory retention periods – remain unaffected.
Applications
We accept applications by e-mail to the address given in the respective job advertisement; there is no application form on this website. We process the information you send us with your application – such as contact details, CV, certificates and other documents – exclusively for the purpose of carrying out the application process. Your e-mail is received and stored via Microsoft 365 (see “Microsoft 365 (e-mail communication)”). Only the persons involved in the selection have access to your documents.
The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) (initiation of an employment relationship). If you voluntarily provide us with special categories of personal data, such as information on your health or a severe disability, we process these on the basis of Art. 9(2)(b) GDPR.
If an employment relationship is established, the data required for its performance will be transferred to our personnel records. Otherwise, we will delete your application documents after the rejection. If you would like us to keep them so that we can contact you again about a suitable vacancy, we will only do so with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
Microsoft 365 (e-mail communication)
We use Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online) for our e-mail communication. The provider is Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited, One Microsoft Place, South County Business Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18, Ireland (hereinafter “Microsoft”).
Microsoft 365 is used to process e-mails that you send to us, as well as all enquiries that you submit via the contact form or the service form on this website. Immediately after submission, the form data is transmitted via a Microsoft programming interface (Microsoft Graph) as an e-mail from a mailbox within our company to the responsible mailbox and stored there; a copy remains in the “Sent Items” folder of the sending mailbox. The content of the message or your form data and the technical data required for delivery are processed in this context.
Microsoft 365 is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the secure, reliable and uniform handling of our e-mail communication. Insofar as your enquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, processing is carried out on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Microsoft processes the data on our behalf. We have concluded a data processing agreement with Microsoft. This ensures that Microsoft processes the personal data only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
Under the “EU Data Boundary”, Microsoft has committed to storing and processing Microsoft 365 customer data for customers in the European Union and EFTA within this area. In limited cases, data may nevertheless be transferred outside this area, in particular to the USA. Such a transfer is based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. Further details on the EU Data Boundary can be found at https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/privacy/eudb/eu-data-boundary-learn
Microsoft is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Further information can be found at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/privacy/microsoft-data-privacy-framework-covered-entities
Further information on how Microsoft handles your data can be found at https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/privacy/privacystatement
5. Plugins and tools
YouTube with privacy-enhanced mode
Videos are not loaded automatically on this website. Where a video is embedded, you initially see a preview image served from our own address. A connection to YouTube is only established when you either allow loading in general in the cookie selection or explicitly enable the individual video. As long as you do not do so, no data whatsoever is transmitted to YouTube or Google.
This website embeds videos from the YouTube website. The website is operated by Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
If you have enabled a video and it is loaded, a connection to the YouTube servers is established. In the process, our domain and the ID of the video being loaded are transmitted to the YouTube server; we do not transmit the path of the page you have accessed. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your browsing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
When a video is loaded, connections are established to the following addresses: www.youtube-nocookie.com, i.ytimg.com, yt3.ggpht.com, www.gstatic.com, fonts.gstatic.com, www.google.com and jnn-pa.googleapis.com. The referrer information is limited to our domain; the path of the page you have visited is not transmitted. When a video is played, a connection to a Google delivery server (subdomain of googlevideo.com) is added, via which the video content itself is transmitted. The exact address changes.
We use YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode. According to YouTube, videos played in privacy-enhanced mode are not used to personalise browsing on YouTube. Advertisements shown in privacy-enhanced mode are also not personalised. No cookies are set in privacy-enhanced mode. Instead, however, so-called local storage elements are stored in the user’s browser, which, similar to cookies, contain personal data and can be used for recognition. Details on privacy-enhanced mode can be found here: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/171780
After a YouTube video has been activated, further data processing operations may be triggered over which we have no control.
YouTube is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online services. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Further information on data protection at YouTube can be found in its privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en
The company is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). The DPF is an agreement between the European Union and the USA intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards for data processing in the USA. Every company certified under the DPF undertakes to comply with these data protection standards. Further information on this can be obtained from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780
Google Maps
The map is not loaded automatically on this website. Instead, you initially see a placeholder. A connection to Google is only established when you allow loading in the cookie selection or explicitly enable the map. As long as you do not do so, no data whatsoever is transmitted to Google.
This site uses the Google Maps map service. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. This service enables us to embed map material on our website.
To use the functions of Google Maps, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transmission. When Google Maps is activated, Google may use Google Fonts for the purpose of uniform display of fonts. When Google Maps is called up, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.
When the map is loaded, connections are established to the following addresses: www.google.com, maps.googleapis.com, maps.gstatic.com and fonts.googleapis.com. Depending on how the map is used, further Google addresses may be added, such as places.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. No referrer information is transmitted in the process.
Google Maps is used in the interest of an appealing presentation of our online services and to make the locations indicated by us on the website easy to find. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Data transfers to the USA are based on the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission. Details can be found here: https://privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/ and https://privacy.google.com/businesses/gdprcontrollerterms/sccs/
More information on the handling of user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en
The company is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). Further information on this can be obtained from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5780
Cloudflare Turnstile
We use Cloudflare Turnstile (hereinafter “Turnstile”) on this website. The provider is Cloudflare Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA (hereinafter “Cloudflare”).
Turnstile is intended to check whether data entered on this website (e.g. in a contact form) is entered by a human or by an automated program. For this purpose, Turnstile analyses the behaviour of the website visitor on the basis of various characteristics.
On this website, Turnstile is not loaded when a page is called up, but only when you start filling in a form – that is, as soon as you click or type in a form field. No connection to Cloudflare is established before then. On the form pages, we point this out separately before loading. For the analysis, Turnstile evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time spent on the page or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Cloudflare.
The data is stored and analysed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in protecting its web services from abusive automated spying and from SPAM. Without this check, no enquiries can be accepted via the forms on this website.
Data processing is based on standard contractual clauses, which can be found here: https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-scc/
Further information on Cloudflare Turnstile can be found in the privacy policy at https://www.cloudflare.com/cloudflare-customer-dpa/
The company is certified under the “EU-US Data Privacy Framework” (DPF). Further information on this can be obtained from the provider at the following link: https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/participant/5666
